Parque Ridley Creek State Park Wedding | Nia + Andrew
If you have a young child in your life, you might have ambitions of making a “thankful turkey” in the month ahead. We made some with our kids last week and it got me thinking about what I’d put on my own turkey feathers.
Reflecting on gratitude as a small business owner
Getting crafty with glue sticks, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes had me reflecting on where I find gratitude. Making things with my hands has always been high on my list of things that bring me happiness. I consider getting creative with clients to be an off-shoot of that.
If I had my own turkey craft hanging on the fridge, Nia and Andrew would definitely make an appearance on one of my feathers.
When Nia and I emailed each other leading up to their wedding day, it felt like a mutual exchange of excited keyboard smashing in the best possible way.
Nia and Andrew are two self-proclaimed nerds who met working at Apple and fell in love. Nia shared that they love Andrew’s enthusiasm and the fact that “he’s a giant dork with golden retriever energy. He loves to help and make sure I take care of myself.” It was lovely to see how much comfort they provided to each other.
A romantic fall wedding at Parque in Ridley Creek State Park
Deep shades of plums, reds, and blues were weaved throughout the wedding day–tied together by the peak golds of autumn coming to a close.
After taking some portraits together on the grounds of Parque at Ridley Creek State Park, the marriers exchanged private vows on a moss covered path behind the stone mansion.
Their ceremony was not without its own magical moments–bubble wands, handfasting, a string quartet, and hot cider for guests.
The reception was packed with dancing and glow sticks. With a brief break for an ice cream bar, board games, and photo booth.
Nia and Andrew’s wedding was absolutely stunning, with an incredible team of vendors who I was lucky to work alongside. During the reception, a guest made my night by saying that my love for what I do was infectious.
It means a lot when I get to work with such passionate, creative, and always curious humans who are so thoughtful in their approach to life, including wedding planning.
