Terrain at Styer’s Winter Wedding | Sami + Joshua
These two incredible humans got married last month. It was my first shoot post brain surgery, so I was nervous about pushing myself too hard. I lucked out because Sami and Joshua are the kindest, funniest people and had me yanking my head back in laughter all day.
Winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular (thanks, global warming?), and Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills is the perfect spot to embrace the colder months. Their Hot House makes the loveliest space for an indoor ceremony, with candles tucked into a greenery wall, and natural light pouring in. I was so excited to explore the grounds for portraits, from their ornate wedding temple to the fresh evergreen trees and living wall. The reception and dancing took place in the Garden Shed, where it was bustling with cozy lights, lanterns, and a rustic feel. One of my favorite parts of receptions at Terrain is the atmosphere of the fire pits at night — everyone cuddled up with flannel throws and sharing stories beneath the stars (with s’mores, of course).
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed geeking out and connecting with Sami via social media and email leading up to their big day. She somehow got me hooked on Survivor and now I’m watching old seasons on Hulu. Also, if you’re an Anime fan, you might notice nods to Naruto sprinkled throughout their reception. Further proof that these people are the coolest, and not just because they rocked an abundance of feather boas when the dance floor opened up.
Thanks to Nellie for joining me and capturing so many favorites. I’m so grateful for ending 2019 on such a positive note.
