Georgia + Matt | Awbury Arboretum | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer
Georgia and Matt’s wedding at Awbury Arboretum was one of my all-time favorites. When Georgia met Matt, she was holding a ukulele that she just bought at the Eastern State Penitentiary flea market. The conversation starter was the beginning of their eventual friendship and family, so of course music played an important role during their wedding day. Georgia played the tambourine down the aisle in lieu of a bouquet and let their almost 3-year-old son rock out on the dance floor with them.
During their ceremony the couple had the speakers select a reading from one of three folders, which ended up being both hilarious and heartfelt. Another highlight included Georgia’s pre-recorded vows, which were filled with sound effects and musings from her inner voice to Matt. I definitely ugly cried when they included their son in their vows, especially when he ran up to them throughout the ceremony. Also, we have to talk about those Fruity Pebbles-dipped donuts. So. Good.
I find it really refreshing when couples aren’t afraid to be themselves and march to the beat of their own drum (literally). Bonus points for having the guests play “Here Comes the Bride” on kazoos during the processional and blasting the Mortal Kombat theme during recessional.
Thanks to Colleen Stepanian for joining me as second shooter and prancing around the woods with me while flailing at all of the awesomeness.
