Waking up at 5am while recovering from strep throat is totally worth it when you’re surrounded by morning dew and sun salutes.

I met Tara last year while attending prenatal yoga classes at her studio, tAra Yoga. Each week as my belly grew, I left the sessions feeling stronger, like I could do anything. Her studio is where I gained the invaluable support of my teacher and doula and made lasting friendships.

Yoga made me trust my body, be kind to myself, do what I love, and give zero shits about those who stood in my way. I’m confident I never would’ve been able to get through our 60-hour, medication-free induction and labor without a positive yoga practice along the way.

Photographing Tara’s pose-a-day challenge made me even more excited to get back to the mat after a long hiatus.
