Engagement: Rachael + David | The Philadelphia Zoo

Rachael and David wanted to have their engagement session somewhere lighthearted, where they could make each other laugh and be themselves. It didn’t take much convincing for them to agree to have their engagement shoot at the zoo. The couple lives in New York City, so it was David’s first trip to The Philadelphia Zoo. Rachael is no stranger to the zoo— her sister used to work with the river otters and her parents were married at the Treehouse, which is my favorite hidden gem there.

We had our hearts set on a polar bear photobomb, but Klondike and Coldilocks were sleeping. Side note: I want to be friends with the person who names the animals at the zoo.

I never turn down a trip to The Philadelphia Zoo, especially when I’m joined by a hilarious and adorable couple. Now I’m even more excited to photograph their wedding at Reading Terminal Market this fall.
