Love ‘n Fresh Flowers | Summer Jam Branding Session
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a floral design workshop led by the talented Jennie Love of Love ‘n Fresh Flowers. I recommend Jennie to all of my couples, so when she invited me to photograph an upcoming Summer Jam Session at her farm in Roxborough, I was totally on board.
The two-hour class was in the format of a “stitch and bitch” circle, with delicious summer cocktails and fresh seasonal hors d’oeuvres made by Jennie herself. After taking in the sights and snacks, Jennie led our group around the farm, introducing us to the different types of blooms and herbs. She shared some tips for assembling a summer floral arrangement and gave us permission to snip our favorite flowers from the farm.
I was especially attracted to the bright, cheery tones of late summer, which you can see in the finished arrangement above. I had no idea how to pull together a cohesive look with flowers prior to this workshop, so it was a really fun learning experience.
We ended up chatting until the sky was black, with a lantern and iPhone flashlight apps as our only light source. The crickets kept us company as we finished up and called it a night, with our arrangements in tow. I wasn’t able to take photos of the finished products since it was so dark out, but everyone did such an amazing job, I was blown away.
I look forward to attending another workshop in the future! For information on the upcoming Seasonal Bouquet Project: Live event series, check out my watercolor illustration at the end of this post.
