I Do: Katherine + Neil | Power Plant Productions, Philadelphia
Standing on a chair, teetering over a circle of wedding guests belting out “Bohemian Rhapsody” while the bride kick off her heels and plays air guitar during one final song. This is just one of the many reasons why I am a wedding photographer.
Katherine and Neil’s wedding was filled with so many moments that made me smile, I couldn’t wait to get home to process their photos and relive every second.
A champagne bottle cork bouncing off the walls of a hotel room at warp speed and instantly sending the bridesmaids into hysterics. Nervous laughter at the end of a pier as the groom gets ready to see his bride for the first time. The incredible mother-of-the-bride who was released from the hospital after a broken hip surgery and reunited with her daughter before walking her down the aisle. A floral-crowned flower girl straight out of a fairy tale. Blue and white details inspired by Belgium, where the groom originally surprised the bride with a proposal on a windmill-topped hill overlooking Bruges. Pure joy on the dance floor in the form of kitty-hands dancing and no shortage of high kicks. Guests circled around a spinning bottle to determine who is next to break out the dance moves.
These are just a few of the many moments that made me fall for the happy couple.
Thank you to Katherine and Neil for including me at your beautiful wedding. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and Queen sing-a-longs with your amazing family and friends.
