Philadelphia Family Photographer | Lorimer Park

Lorimer Park family photos in the Philadelphia suburbs.

As a parent, it means a lot to be trusted when people are searching for a Philadelphia family photographer. Especially when we share so many values. Whether you’re queer, Disabled, and neurodivergent or not, finding an AuDHD, queer photographer can make any family sessions more accessible.

It can be especially important to collaborate with families to determine a location that feels more safe and accommodating. At the end of the day, my photos end up looking much more relaxed and at ease when clients are photographed in sensory-friendly clothing somewhere they feel equally as secure. Whether it’s at home or at a nearby park. In this family’s case, we met up at Lorimer Park in the Philadelphia suburbs of Montgomery County. It’s one of my favorite rock-throwing parks to explore. The water elements are often complemented by the colors of the season. I had the best time getting to know this family of three while exploring Lorimer Park together and taking advantage of beautiful leaf-throwing weather.

Putting clients at ease is my top priority, which means welcoming breaks and finding ways to support them. I wrote in-depth about how to make family photo sessions more accessible for Autistic clients of any age on my Substack here. These tips can be applied to many families, whether or not they’re neurodivergent.

Working alongside LGBTQIA+ clients as a queer photographer is especially meaningful to me. There’s a level of trust and foundational understanding of each other. As a non-binary photographer, I find it comforting to work alongside those who are not only aware of my gender identity, but accept it. When marginalized photographers have the creative space to flourish without having to mask or being misgendered, our work can excel.

Photographing families has been one of my favorite things to do since I started my small business 15 years ago. I love that we’re typically able to not only document the family, but also individual portraits of the grownups and photos of the partners together kid-free. I can’t speak highly enough about those who trust me to document their family sessions. Their kindness and willingness to be vulnerable in front of the camera is invaluable.

Thank you again to everyone who trusts me as a Philadelphia family photographer. While I often work primarily in the Greater Philadelphia area—whether it’s Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, or Philadelphia County—I also love traveling for family sessions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re considering being photographed in the year ahead. As a reminder, my rates will be increasing at the start of the New Year. If you’d like to schedule a session in 2025, I’m honoring my vintage 2024 rates for all sessions booked before December 31st, 2024.
