It is always a joy to photograph a Fairmount Park Horticulture Center wedding, especially when working with marriers as thoughtful and kind as this duo.
When Luca and Wren reached out to me about photographing their wedding after we collaborated as part of Youthphoria, I was incredibly honored. It’s been a privilege to reconnect with them throughout the process. They’re such a glowing example of how weddings can be as unique as the people organizing them. Their theme was an autumn equivalent of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and I think they nailed it. Their friend Courtney knocked it out of the park (and zoo) with their colorful makeup!
Neurodivergent wedding ideas
While guests enjoyed donuts and coffee at their Fairmount Park Horticulture Center wedding, the couple set aside time for penguin pebbling–where they exchanged sentimental rocks with each other. This made my AuDHD heart very happy to see. We had a lovely time exploring the venue’s expansive grounds and greenhouse for their Fairmount Park Horticulture Center wedding.
During their ceremony, Wren and Luca had an oversized dice roll for determining vow order, followed by a sand ceremony and breaking the glass. I loved the idea of rolling oversized D20s for Dungeons & Dragons players. Their friend closed the ceremony with a song, surrounded by lush greens.
Philadelphia Zoo wedding photos
After some group photos, I joined the couple as they headed to the nearby Philadelphia Zoo with guests prior to their reception. We squealed at red pandas, waved to penguins, soaked up the giant river otters, and info-dumped about animals. For marriers who are looking to fill some time between their ceremony and reception, I highly recommend considering doing something similar and exploring a Philadelphia area attraction with chosen family.
I’m so proud to know Luca and Wren and can’t wait to see their story continue to unfold.
