As a Philadelphia portrait photographer, one of my favorite things about portrait sessions is how wildly different each one is.

Accessible Affirming Portraits
The setting. The clothes. The reason the photos exist at all. The colors people are drawn to. Every choice lends clues to people’s personalities, while amplifying their work, art, or a season of their life.
Collaborating with clients via detailed communication helps make these sessions come to life, while highlighting ways to be more accessible and accommodating.
The locations for these sessions have a wide range. From Bartram’s Garden and the Bok Building to Percy Street Project and Rowan University. There are endless options for folks who live in the Greater Philadelphia area, depending on their aesthetic preferences. Being a Philadelphia portrait photographer doesn’t mean I don’t travel. I love to photograph people in environments that feel most comfortable for them.
Working alongside other neurodivergent, queer, trans, and Disabled people is what makes me feel energized to do this work. Many of the people in the photos below self-identify as shy and anxious or felt self-conscious leading up to their session. Talking through things like how to better accommodate Autistic clients or affirm trans folks makes it easier for people to drop their mask and shine through.
Artistic Trans Portrait Photography
As founder and photographer of a past project, Youthphoria, I had the privilege of connecting with incredible trans youth from behind the lens. These sessions wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity from the community in the form of mutual aid. This funded the styling and support of fellow queer vendors. Credits for the creatives who collaborated on those sessions are listed below.
If you’re looking for affirming portraits shaped by your space, style, and story, I’d love to chat and be considered.
