Peter and Zach had a memorable Scott Outdoor Amphitheater wedding this past summer. They Brooklyn-based marriers both work in creative industries and were seeking a photographer who could document the spirit and energy of the day. They wanted someone with a human, intimate approach. I’m so grateful they trusted me to document the celebration.
The couple exchanged vows at Scott Outdoor Amphitheater in Swarthmore. Peter’s sister officiated and their friends gave thoughtful readings including “Having a Coke with You” and “Meditation at Lagunitas.” After their ceremony, we went to their nearby family home, where they shared meals and dancing.
DIY origami paper elements were weaved throughout the day, from cardboard table numbers and origami place cards to their pillared ceremony backdrop.

I was excited to revisit Scott Outdoor Amphitheater for Peter and Zach’s summer celebration at Swarthmore College. The last time I had been on campus was to photograph an engagement session at the ampthitheater over a decade ago.
For folks who are looking for Delaware County wedding venues, Scott Outdoor Amphitheater can be rented for wedding ceremonies from mid-June through mid-August. Or during fall and spring breaks when classes aren’t in session, depending on availability. The amphitheater allows rentals by faculty, staff, and alumni for wedding ceremonies. (The wedding couple or a parent must be an alum, faculty, or staff member.)
The Swarthmore campus also has a wedding reception venue at the Inn at Swarthmore, for those who are interested.
