Despite the fact that it was especially wintry out, I felt nothing but warmth from M + J during their Philly engagement photos at The Woodlands. The grounds are especially meaningful for the couple. And it’s where I first met them last year and where I will have the honor of photographing their intimate wedding nearly a year later.
The Woodlands—a more accessible, historic Philadelphia wedding venue
Whether it’s for Philly engagement photos or exploring the venue as a wedding photographer, I treasure my time at The Woodlands. Hann Daly, The Woodlands’ Events and Communications Manager, does a fantastic job and makes it so easy to work there as a vendor. Collaborating with Hann is always an honor because they put so much thought into every event experience.
The Woodlands is also included in my Guide to Accessibility in Philadelphia Wedding Venues. Finding Philadelphia event spaces that prioritize accessibility can sadly be incredibly challenging. I appreciate their commitment to making the grounds more accessible and inclusive to folks, whether they are getting married or visiting. I’ve visited The Woodlands many times throughout the years and highly recommend it as a venue to engaged folks who are planning their wedding.

There’s something about the slower season that makes me really cherish any time I get to spend with clients in nature. It can be challenging to feel lightness with so much at stake in the world, but being in community with people who prioritize care above all else is a replenishing balm.
