There were so many details I couldn’t wait to see come together for Airen and Jasper’s Willows Park Preserve wedding. The first look between their Squishmallows–Alec and Russel. The pine cone cake toppers that matched the couple’s winter accessories. The wedding cake that was lovingly made by Jasper’s dad. Their dog Chestnut in a green tutu. The nighttime outdoor ceremony at the ruins at their Willows Park Preserve wedding. The dreamy decor straight out of a Hallmark movie. The snow machine (!!!).
Willows Park Preserve wedding
This was my first time working at Willows Park Preserve, which had lovely views of hills, trees, and a frozen pond. I’d love the opportunity to work there again and explore the different ways seasonality affects the grounds.
Snow machine wedding photos
It was especially fun to take portraits of the couple under a snow machine at night during their December wedding. I couldn’t find many wedding photos with snow machines for inspiration. I can’t thank them enough for trusting me to bring their vision to life.
More accessible, queer-affirming weddings
Even moreso, I was so excited to see Airen and Jasper again. Their love for each other is a balm and was the most joyful way for me to close out 2024. I had a blast reconnecting with past clients and some of my favorite vendors as well, including DJ Jamz and Merida.
Having the privilege to work with fellow queer, Disabled folks is so energizing and healing. I was so excited to see past clients in the crowd of guests. It makes me grateful when there’s overlap with guests whose weddings I’ve photographed recently as well.
Word-of-mouth referrals are so important, especially in an industry that isn’t always values-aligned. I can’t thank Airen and Jasper enough for being vulnerable and sharing their wedding day with me.
