Matthew wanted to ask his girlfriend Shahar to marry him during this fall Grounds for Sculpture proposal. There was something especially entertaining about squatting behind a wall near the sculpture court while passersby looked at me perplexed.
Grounds for Sculpture Proposal
“Dorion” by Bruce Beasley was the geometric, stainless steel, sculptural backdrop for their proposal. I love revisiting Grounds for Sculpture, because there’s always a variety of natural elements mixed with installations to work with in a new way.
Proposal sessions are a joy because they naturally transition into engagement sessions and I’m given the opportunity to connect with the partners and learn more about who they are as people. Matthew and Shahar were incredibly kind and open to my ideas. As always, it meant a lot to be trusted to document these moments for them.
If you’re looking for a photographer to document your proposal in the Greater Philadelphia area or beyond, I’d love to be considered.

Hi
I’m contacting you on behalf of my son . He is in search of a photographer as he surprises his lovely mate with a marriage proposal at the grounds of sculpture .
Hi Tamar! Thanks so much for reaching out! I’d love to be considered. If you’d like, you could email me at shannon@shannoncollins.com so we can connect and share further information. That’s such a beautiful space to propose. And it’s really nice that couples can go back to revisit the grounds to celebrate anniversaries and such as well.
