I’ve known Sara as a librarian at my local library, so it meant a lot when she asked if I’d photograph her wedding with Jon. In true bibliophile fashion, Jon proposed in one of the aisles of antique books at Baldwin’s Book Barn.
Sara and Jon got married on a spring day at the gazebo at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. It means a lot to be given the opportunity to photograph humans in general, but especially when they’re vulnerable enough to express anxieties around having their photo taken.
It is my hope that giving people the opportunity to see themselves in a new light is healing in small ways.
This was a beautiful, vibrant day filled with a crowd of librarians, a lot of love, and some much-appreciated nods to Schitt’s Creek.
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve Wedding
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve was a picturesque backdrop for their wedding. The greens of the woods, native plants, nature trails, wildflowers, and a creek nearby were breathtaking. The 134-acre nature preserve, botanical garden, and museum is based in New Hope. As someone who photographs a lot of Philadelphia weddings, having an expansive green space to explore in Bucks County is such a treat.
