Colorful, Fall, Queer Wedding at Levering Mill Tribute House | Emma + Art
It feels jarring posting anything that resembles self-promotion when there are so many people mourning the ongoing genocides. Something that comforts me is witnessing clients and vendors continue to demand for the freedom of the oppressed.
Emma and Art are two of those individuals. I admire them not only for their incredible craft and artistry, but for their tireless community building and advocacy for liberation and justice.
Colorful, fall, queer wedding at Levering Mill Tribute House
Their wedding was another representation of the ways in which their brains co-create joyfulness together. So many thoughtful details were sprinkled throughout Levering Mill Tribute House. From handmade tissue paper flowers and a personalized wedding zine to artists and activists in lieu of table numbers. It feels like a balm to my heart when marriers continue to provide COVID tests for their guests in the midst of a pandemic.
It’s an honor to celebrate humans like Emma and Art (which is a contradiction because no one else is like these two), beyond the wedding day and into the day-to-day.
Consider joining me in pre-ordering Emma’s debut novel, Housemates, a celebration of queer life that is set in West Philadelphia.
And if it wasn’t clear already, free Palestine. And Congo. And Sudan. And Haiti. And us all.
