Fleisher Art Memorial Wedding | Marietta + Daniel
I always have such an incredible time shooting weddings at Fleisher Art Memorial. The South Philadelphia venue is the country’s oldest community art center, dedicated to making art accessible to everyone.
Weddings at Fleisher Art Memorial are a dream — from the colorful, outdoor mural and children’s sculpture garden to the turpentine-scented art studios. Fleisher Art Memorial’s century-old sanctuary is dramatic and eclectic and always attracts creative clients. Marietta and Daniel had a rich appreciation for Fleisher’s historic importance, specifically the sanctuary’s stained glass by John La Farge.
Their fall wedding was flooded with energy and vibrance, with a showstopper dress by Rue de Seine and a beautifully memorable wedding bouquet. I had so much fun walking around Bella Vista together and hitting up the locations we pre-scouted for portraits (thank you, Google Maps for allowing us to collaborate on a shared map). Marietta and Daniel’s family and friends were so incredibly kind and Marietta’s parents even brought gifts for my young children, which always make me think of them.
Wedding photography is such an intimate experience, where I’m able to be present and get to know people on a human level that I probably wouldn’t get to any other day. It means a great deal to be able to work with such lovely humans at a venue that really encapsulates the city of Philadelphia to me. I can’t wait to tell more stories at Fleisher, with an intentional appreciation for the space and the people who love it.
