West Virginia Babymoon | Lost River Modern | Lifestyle Photography
I wanted to go on a secluded babymoon to take time as a family of three one last time before Adelaide’s little brother arrives in July. I don’t typically bring my camera along on vacations because it always feels somewhat burdensome and like I’m watching moments happen from the outside and not actively participating. Also, hiking with heavy gear while 7 months pregnant is not ideal. Despite all of that, I wanted to document our time together because all of this change makes me nostalgic and want to preserve the simple things.
Like road tripping to West Virginia, making stops along the way at Tiny World, Dinosaur Land, and Skyline Caverns. Making blueberry muffins, playdough, and bread while listening to Automatic for the People. Visiting a National Park together for the first time and hiking the day away. Playing video games in pjs all morning. Soaking outside in a wood burning tub. Splashing in a lake and pocketing new treasures. Sharing s’mores before watching the sunset over the mountains at our awesome airbnb — lostrivermodern.
We left our week-long adventure with a lingering smell of firewood on our clothes and a new appreciation for cell service. I’m looking forward to wherever our next vacation takes us, and creating new memories as a family of four. Also, I have less pee breaks to look forward to, so there’s that.
