Kate + Dan | JG Domestic, Philadelphia
There are few humans I’d want to email while in labor at the hospital, but Kate is one of those people. I remember being 24 hours into labor and finally gathering the energy to check my email. When I saw Kate’s name in my inbox, it was a welcome distraction. We’ve been exchanging emails pretty much non-stop ever since. These two thoughtful souls even took the time to send a package right before leaving on their honeymoon. The contents? A photo-themed outfit for baby’s first birthday. Amazing.
Kate and Dan’s wedding day took place at JG Domestic in Philadelphia. The Jose Garces restaurant is tucked away in the Cira Centre and neighbors The Porch installation at 30th Street Station. The team behind Spruce Street Harbor Park designed landscaping to complement wooden seating and swings throughout The Porch, which made for some vibrant photos.
I loved everything about JG Domestic. The food was stellar, the decor is charming, and the panoramic view of the city skyline gave everything a romantic glow at night.
My favorite moment from the day (which left me a hot, teary mess behind my camera) was when Kate surprised her dad with a projected home video from the first time they danced together. The same song started playing (Patsy Cline’s “You’re Stronger Than Me”) while they did their first dance in front of the projection. Try to not cry while you watch it. Just try.
Their day left me feeling so energized and emotional, I couldn’t wait to get started on their photos.
Here are some of my favorites…
