{Engagement} Anne & Tim | Valley Forge National Historical Park

Valley Forge, engagement
Every year, I make it a point to drive to Valley Forge National Historical Park for a late afternoon engagement shoot during one of the last weekends of autumn. I saw about ten other engagement sessions taking place when I was waiting to meet Anne and Tim, so I know I’m not alone there. I guess it’s hard not to appreciate soaking up all of the warm colors as the sun goes down behind little log cabins.

Even though the park was filled to the brim with chattering visitors, there was no shortage of still, quiet landscapes. There’s a tree there that reminds me of a scene straight out of “Big Fish” that I absolutely love.

This was my first time meeting Anne and Tim (unless a Google Hangout counts) and they couldn’t have been more laid back or sweet together. There’s something really lovely when a couple goes from touching noses and gazing into each other’s eyes to laughing hysterically.

This was right around the time when Lou Reed passed away and I couldn’t help but hum these lyrics in my head:

Do you remember the silver walks,
You used to shiver and I used to talk.
Then we went down to Times Square,
And ever since I’ve been hangin round there.

— Lou Reed, I’m So Free
