2013 | A Year in Review
2013 was a year full of transition.
In April, I left my full-time job to pursue photography full-time. I was touched by the encouragement I received from my co-workers and I miss their awesome faces.
My husband’s confidence and pride in my work hasn’t gone unnoticed either. He also started a new job that makes him even more energized to wake up at 6am. I am so thankful to have him by my side, motivating me to be my very best. This fall, we celebrated our one-year anniversary while shooting a wedding together, which I found strangely romantic. We traded our ancient cars in for a new vehicle, although we have yet to name it (or decide the gender). Our four-legged family (ahem: two dogs, two rabbits, and one chinchilla) kept us company while we tackled home renovation projects during our downtime. We said goodbye to one of our favorite television shows. We met our adorable nephew, who is somehow almost six months old already. We went to Disney World and acted like kids again.
I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in a long time, thanks to a little push from a new friend. And I love it. So, so much.
I watched some of my closest friends get married. I spent time with friends and family who fill me with an outpouring of love and support.
I forged friendships with peers in the wedding community who I respect and admire with all of my heart. I gained the sweetest new clients while reconnecting with couples from the past.
A massive thank you to the couples who included me at their big day and the families who invited me into their homes this year. It’s a privilege to have all of you in my life. I’m really looking forward to 2014, but until then, here’s a glimpse at some of my favorite moments from this year.
*Special thanks to my husband, Pete, for joining me in photographing many of the weddings below.
